What's new in AI Image Studio

Nano Banana 2.1, Google's newest image model, is now in the image generator. Pick it from the model list. Nano Banana 2 stays available, and nothing you made before changes.

What is different

Google says 2.1 follows prompts more closely, keeps the same character steadier across edits and gets text and infographic layouts right more often. It also fixes the seams that could show on very wide and very tall images.

What you can do with it

• Make images at 1K, 2K or 4K.
• Upload up to 10 reference images and describe how to combine or change them.
• Go past the usual shapes: wide 4:1 and 8:1 strips, and tall 1:4 and 1:8 banners.

The Nano Banana 2.1 page shows real test results with their prompts, and the side-by-side test against GPT Image 2.5 shows which jobs suit which model.

Open a result in the image generator and a panel now sits beside it with every next step: regenerate, edit the prompt, use the image as a reference, run a quick edit or a free tool, add it to favorites or download it. The prompt and settings behind the image are right there too. On a phone, the same actions open as one sheet of icons.

The model list is easier to scan as well. Models are grouped by maker, each with a one-line description, and a search box finds one by name. On a phone, the list slides up from the bottom of the screen.

When you are signed in, open Support from your account. Pick what you need help with (a generation, billing and credits, your account, a suggestion or something else), describe what happened and attach up to three screenshots.

Replies show up under My requests, where you can add more details at any time. If a request was closed but the problem comes back, reply to it and it opens again.
